What is a DPF?
The Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) is an emissions control device fitted to diesel vehicles since 2009. It traps soot particles from the exhaust and periodically burns them off through a process called "regeneration."
While designed to reduce emissions, DPFs can cause significant problems for diesel owners. Short journeys, city driving, and low-speed use prevent proper regeneration, leading to blocked filters, reduced performance, and expensive repairs.
